THE ROAD BEHIND: WHAT HAPPENED IN 2024
Vice President Kamala Harris lost in 2024 because there was a decline in the number of people of color who cast ballots. Had there been greater investment in organizing and inspiring people of color in that presidential election cycle, Harris would have won, and we would not be in the situation we are currently facing. Without going down a data rabbit hole—as appealing as that might be to data nerds like me—let me just offer a few fundamental facts that have been misunderstood or overlooked in terms of interpreting what happened in that race.
